As of the last day of the month, the gas storages in the region were filled to 86.1%, which is 16.7% more than the same period the previous year. At the same time, in last year’s July, 2.2 billion cm more resource was injected.
Let us recall that for this year, the European Commission has set a minimum filling level for European UGS (underground gas storages) of 90% by November 1, 2023. Given the pace of the past months, this goal could be achieved as early as the second half of August. In 2022, EU countries reached the 90% mark on October 5.
