«The full-scale war has been, and continues to be, one of the biggest challenges. Yet the industry has endured, and we succeeded in increasing production volumes. A huge thank you to all gas producers for their work!» - emphasized Artem Petrenko, Executive Director of the Association of Gas Producers of Ukraine.
• Ukrainian companies produced 19.12 bcm of natural gas in 2024 - 2.3% or 422 million cm more than in 2023.
• A steady positive trend was demonstrated throughout the year by Naftogaz Group companies - Ukrgasvydobuvannya and Ukrnafta.
• Since August, independent producers have been increasing output, growing their average daily production by 25% over five months.
• Drilling commenced at over 140 new gas wells.
• Producers acquired five oil and gas blocks at e-auctions for a total of almost UAH 1.18 billion.
• 996 million cm of Ukrainian gas were purchased by Naftogaz Group on the Ukrainian Energy Exchange (since April 26, 2023 - almost 2 bcm in total). With exports restricted throughout 2025, it is vital that this domestic trading mechanism continues to operate actively.
• Liquidity on the short-term gas market has increased 15 to 25 times, following the adoption of a procedure regulating the sale of gas produced under Production Sharing Agreements (PSAs) and retained in state ownership.
• The year 2025 began with a significant increase in transmission tariffs, which unfortunately poses negative implications for the sector. The Association will continue working toward a comprehensive and balanced resolution of this issue.
