Over 90 new wells were drilled across Ukraine in the first eight months of 2024.
Since 2018, a total of 674 wells have been spudded, owing to industry incentives and policy support. Notably, more than 315 of these were initiated during the period of full-scale Russian aggression.
«The ongoing drilling activity once again proves that increasing domestic gas production remains a top priority for both the state and the private sector. Today, companies are focused on driving industry growth, expanding output, and ensuring the country’s resilience in the face of any challenges», emphasized Artem Petrenko, Executive Director of the Association of Gas Producers of Ukraine, during the Continental Europe Energy Council (CEEC) meeting - a regional forum uniting oil and gas producers from Central Eastern Europe and the Caspian region.
He noted that Ukrainian producers are doing everything possible to help the country get through the upcoming winter and to lay a reliable foundation for the next heating season.
