The Association always supports the international EITI standards, which are significant for debunking myths and developing the industry. AGPU's head, Artem Petrenko, stated this during the conference "10 Years of EITI in Ukraine: achievements and perspectives".
"Our companies started reporting on their activities long before it became a legal requirement. This indicates that the producers themselves were interested in openly and transparently showing their work, contributions to the budget, and the impact on gas producing regions," emphasized Artem Petrenko.
According to data from the state web portal Open Budget, for the first eight months of 2023, the oil and gas production industry paid UAH 39 billion in royalties. Local communities where companies operate received almost UAH 2 billion. These are real funds that can already be used for regional development today.
"The cooperation between gas producers and local communities is essential because the more gas the companies produce, the more funds will remain 'on the ground'", Artem Petrenko believes.
