"At the moment, Ukraine has a unique chance to illustrate the success story of domestic gas production to the rest of the world. I`m convinced, that such accomplishment can be ensured by signed PSAs between the state and investors", said Artem Petrenko, Executive Director of the Association, during his speech at the VI Ukrainian Gas Forum – Eastern European Gas Partnership.
He noted, that a recent meeting of the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal with investors and his direct instructions to boost a conduction of relevant agreements demonstrate the Government’s interest in attracting of investment into the oil and gas industry.
"Enlargement of domestic gas production and following upcoming energy independence are remain the vital priorities for the Government. In this regard we draw your attention, that the state shall motivate investors to invest money in development of Ukrainian subsoil, which will consequently enhance volumes of domestic gas production. For now, we are discussing implementation of new tax incentives, that will grant the prolongation of companies’ investment activities. Since it’s a new investment, it won`t burden state budget at all. Without incentives Ukraine is risking to lose its gas production and will become even more addicted to the imported gas", acknowledged Artem Petrenko.
