Roman Opimakh, Executive Director of the Association of Gas Producers of Ukraine became the finalist of the prestigious Global Energy Award in the Rising Star Award Individual nomination.
The S&P Global Platts Global Energy Awards are a world-renowned energy industry prizes with a more than twenty years history and are the recognition of corporate and individual innovation, leadership and effectiveness. The independent judging panel annually selects the winners in 21 nominations.
Ukrainian appeared in the list of finalists for the first time in the history of the existence of the awards. The judging panel evaluated Roman Opimakh’s achievements at the position of head of the Association of Gas Producers of Ukraine as the initiator of important reforms for the development of domestic gas production. Also among the finalists of the Rising Star Award Individual nomination are representatives of well-known energy companies, including ENGIE, Fortis Energy, Kuwait Petroleum, Saudi Aramco and Sinopec.
The winners' selection and awarding ceremony will take place on December 12, 2019 in New York.
