Ukraine’s path toward EU integration requires extensive reforms and the implementation of numerous European standards - including in hydrocarbon production. This transition will present new challenges for the oil and gas sector and will require prudent, well-balanced decisions. This was emphasized by Artem Petrenko, Executive Director of the Association, during the XII International Oil and Gas Conference hosted by Newfolk NCC.
«Ukraine’s gas production sector is truly unique and has no equivalent within the EU. We extract the largest volume among member states and nearly fully meet our domestic demand. Therefore, preserving Ukrainian gas production and safeguarding the rights of subsoil users will remain key priorities for the continuation of their operations. Our energy security lies entirely in our own hands», stated the AGPU’s head.
