Oleksandr Romanyuk, Director of the Naftogaz Exploration and Production Division, has been elected the new Chairman of the Board of the Association of the Gas Producers of Ukraine. An appropriate solution was made on meeting of the members of the AGPU board.
As new Chairman of the Board of the AGPU, Alexander Romanyuk will endeavour to increase investment attractiveness of gas production industry, involve international experience in hydrocarbon exploration and production, as well as to establish an effective dialogue between business and government.
"Gas producing industry undergoes a phase of difficult challenges. Falling world prices for gas, economic crisis, depletion of fields, the consequences of the pandemic – combination of these factors has a negative impact on production. It is necessary to provide anti-crisis solutions that can stabilize the industry and create a solid foundation for its further sustainable growth. Cooperation between national and private companies to solve these problems is becoming even more urgent. The Association is a powerful platform for such interaction. Particularly, Naftogaz is currently developing a promising strategy to increase its resource base, and we are perfect willing to share our developments with the industry. On the other hand, business experience that has succeeded in operational efficiency and technological innovation is essential to us. Together we need and will have a dialogue with public authorities and involve the society to create new incentives for gas production. I am grateful to the members of AGPU for the confident belief and the opportunity to head the Board of the organization for the next year, to whom I attach all the efforts for its effective performance," said Oleksandr Romanyuk.
