The Association took part in a working meeting chaired by Deputy Minister of Energy Mykola Kolisnyk, focused on the implementation of the Law of Ukraine «On minimum stocks of oil and petroleum products».
This EU integration-oriented law was adopted last year and entered into force on December 24. Its primary objective is to enhance Ukraine’s energy security and ensure stable fuel supply to the market during crisis situations.
During the meeting, key issues related to the practical application of the law and the future operation of Ukraine’s minimum stockholding system were discussed. To support the implementation of the law’s provisions, the government - on the initiative of the Ministry of Energy - adopted a set of regulatory acts.
The Association has been actively involved in this strategically important initiative, providing expert comments and continuing to keep the issue of minimum reserves in focus. Given that the mechanism is new for both Ukraine and market participants, further coordination remains critically important.
We thank the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine for a constructive dialogue and look forward to continued cooperation.
We are confident that joint efforts between the government and businesses will lead to an effective model that ensures market stability, predictability, and stronger energy security.
