Covering 100% of Ukrainian intrastate gas needs by the means of its own production is a goal of the National Economic Strategy 2030

The Government approved the National Economic Strategy 2030. Among the main strategic targets is to cover 100% of Ukraine's natural gas needs by the means of its own production.

Measures that the Government plans to implement to increase gas production in the country:

1. Implementation of incentive taxation regime for undertakings operating new and restored wells, as well as the adoption of regulations on the rules of resumption of suspended and abandoned wells,
2. Introduction of a preferential regime to stimulate the production of heavy and unconventional hydrocarbon deposits,
3. Establishment of incentive royalty rate for the production of hydrocarbons (oil, condensate) within five years from the date of drilling a new well,
4. Harmonizing the royalty rate for oil and gas production with the European average rate,
5. Improving the mechanisms for implementing production sharing agreements,
6. Promotion of Ukrainian tenders for the conclusion of production sharing agreements in the world and attracting new investors,
7. Liberalization of circulation of licenses,
8. Introduction of national-private partnership incentives for the development of innovative exploration and production technologies.

It is extremely important to quickly implement all the tasks set, which have been repeatedly emphasized by gas producers and which are set out in the National Economic Strategy. Joint and coordinated actions of government and business, stability and predictability in the sector will help to achieve the strategic goal,” said the Executive Director of the Association Artem Petrenko.
