The Concept for Development of Ukraine’s gas production industry until 2020 should be approved soon. Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, Volodymyr Kistion, has stressed this out during the meeting with the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine member companies.
Mr. Kistion told that a series of councils with the representatives executive government branch, MPs, experts, gas producing companies' management, etc has been held in summer. The resulting product of the meetings is the draft of the Concept for Development of Ukraine’s gas production industry for the period until 2020.
Volodymyr Kistion has pointed out that the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry has received an order from the Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman to put the document up for Government review as soon as possible.
"In the beginning of September, an external meeting at the Shebelynka gas processing plant was organized. During the meeting, Prime Minister has given the corresponding orders to the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry to bring the mentioned above consolidated document, i.e. draft Concept, for reviewal by the Government. Currently, the draft of the Concept is being approved at central executive bodies. I am deeply confident that the document will be reviewed at one of the soonest Government meetings" – stated the Vice Prime Minister.
According to him, the key target outlined in the Concept is to achieve by 2020 production levels necessary to provide for the needs of the economy and the population of Ukraine, meaning at least 27 bcm.
"One of the steps on the way to this goal is the easing of the procedures of granting permits for development of the gas fields" – Volodymyr Kistion explained.
